Why do we love this road trip ?
We particularly love this roadtrip because it includes our favorite beaches: Praia Azul and Praia do Mexilhoeira. These two beaches are absolutely superb and what we appreciate even more is that they are never overwhelmed by mass tourism. They are so big that it is difficult to walk on each other! The waves at Praia Azul are ideal for stress-free surfing. In addition, the village of Santa Cruz is charming. It is good to stroll along the promenade. In short, this roadtrip is a beach and surf oriented circuit. Everything we love at Soleil Roadtrip.

Chillin' in Praia Azul
- Praia Azul is immense and it is one of our favorite spots. To walk along the ocean or to enjoy sunbathing while others go surfing… It is a pure moment of happiness. Its also the paradise for our dogs !
The hidden gem of Praia do Mexilhoeira
- Praia do Mexilhoeira is another hidden gem that we are excited to share with you. We stumbled upon it by chance at the end of a trail off the national road. It is a secluded beach popular with surfers, skimboarders, and those who want to relax on the sand. In autumn and winter, it is not uncommon to see waterfalls cascading down the cliffs onto the beach.
A Santa Cruz getaway
- Santa Cruz, located in the municipality of Torres Vedras, is a charming little seaside town. We love to walk around there and stop for lunch at a restaurant on the esplanade facing the sea. We highly recommend it. Santa Cruz also has magnificent beaches and great surfing spots!
